It's opening weekend at Valleyfair! We went last night for dinner and a few rides, then were going to stop for a short time today before going to the zoo, but it was such a beautiful day we ended up staying the whole day!
Amir is excited for rides now, and Lyla rode her first big thrill ride, the Northern Lights! It's her new favorite ride, of course, but she also likes the tilter and the scrambler and the monster.
While we waited for lunch today Lyla rode on the Linus Launcher and Amir watched. He got a little bored and decided to hop in the stroller for a graham cracker with his blankie.
Lyla is loving being 42 inches. She sat by herself on the rockets today. She was waving at me and shouting the whole time. At one point I really did think she might fall out. Thankfully, she remained seated and made it to the end of the ride when I finally figured out she had been yelling that she wanted to go to the Charlie Brown show.
We had some time to kill, so the kids rode the train and we played in the ball room. Amir did great in both places! He liked waving on the train and had fun chasing balls around. He walked with Masud a lot and even adventured a little bit by himself. Way to go little man!
We walked rough the dinosaur park and then it was finally time for the Charlie Brown show. Lyla loved marching in line during the camp song and we had a close up visit from CB himself! Amir loved it was excited to meet his hero Linus after the show. My goal this summer is to get a picture of both of them with their blankies!
Since we will be going all summer, we got the season long sodas this year. Today we got unlimited refills and we're all totally soda-logged by the time we left. We don't usually stay all day, so today was a good day to get them since we ended up staying at the park for seven hours!
