This weekend we're adventuring in Wisconsin Dells. We hit the road Friday morning and made it that afternoon with enough time to visit the zoo, play at the park, and hit the pool.
Lyla's favorite thing at the park zoo was the prairie dogs. We watched them for a long time because they were active and funny. The babies jumped all over the moms, they were all eating, and some were lounging in the hay. This one and Harrison could be good friends, I think.
Amir likes to hang out in his bassinet. He is reaching and batting at his toys a little now and it's fun to watch and listen to him play.
Yesterday we went hiking at Parfrey's Glen. Amir was in the bjorn and Lyla was in the stroller. Things got a little more rocky than we expected so we had to abandon the stroller for a while. We didn't make it the whole way through, but still had a good time.
"Um, Mom, where are we going?"
"When's lunch? I'm hungry!"
After lunch and a break at the hotel, we went to Chula Vista water park. We stayed inside since it was rainy and cool outside, but there was plenty to do. Masud and I took turns at the table with Amir while the other played with Lyla. Her favorites were the slides, but we did the lazy river a few times too.
The fun ended when she scraped her knee on the bottom of the pool. She had a big bump and a scrape, but wasn't too hurt to take a photo with Amir (rocking his swim suit, even if he didn't go in the water).
It was raining in the way home. Good thing we had an umbrella in the car!
After having trouble falling asleep all week at home, Lyla fell asleep in about three minutes last night. Amir even had a five hour stretch!
