Happy Birthday Amir! 2 Weeks!

 

Our handsome little man is two weeks old! This week we had a lot of adventures like Amir's first visit to the hem/onc clinic, going to the zoo, meeting the crew at Faye's, family connections, and even a play date! 

We started using the playmat since Amir has been little more awake lately, but Herky decided it was his domain so we can't leave it set up anymore. 

Lyla has been adjusting to being a sister and loves her little brother very much. SE likes to kiss, hug and hold him. That said, she likes her own time with us too. Her new favorite thing is playing relaxing water massage during bath time. She is also getting good at getting her own snacks and drinks, and loves to play Survivor challenges (she makes up challenges and then makes us narrate them as thou she's competing against the tv competitors). Thanks to Cindy for the giant Hershey bar! 

Last week we visited the clinic and noted Lyla has been in-toeing more and chewing her fingers a lot. She was also not going to the bathroom as often. Turns out Dr. Bendel thinks she is developing a sensitivity to the velban and that it's causing excess neuropathy. She didn't get chemo last week and won't have it this week either so we can see whether or not her symptoms improve with a break. So far Masud and I think things are improving, which is good news. 

Today Amir had a play date with his buddy Beckett. They are about 6 weeks apart and destined to be great buddies! And I sure enjoyed hanging out with Trisha too! Amir also got his first piece of mail from Uncle Tipu in AZ. 

Masud and I had a lunch at today and I took Amir to the doctor. He's getting back to his birth weight thanks to lots of breastfeeding  madness. He hasn't mastered focusing his eyes yet but that's no big deal. The doctor thinks he looks very healthy and said to go back in two months!
