More Fun with Grandma! And a Haircut!

Yesterday after work we went to the zoo. We got there an hour before close and had the place to ourselves. It was strange, but fun to see everything on our own. It was boiling outside, and the monkeys were jumping from their trees into the water below. It was great to watch!

Amir is becoming a little monkey and loves to climb. Masud helped him on the rocks by the Penguins and he mastered the bee room on his own.

He wasn't so sure about the turtle, but patted its head and climbed on up. He looks like such a big boy! What happened to my baby?!

And what about this baby?! Beautiful as ever!

Amma bought some cookies for the kids earlier this week and they were a huge hit. I grabbed a few as zoo snacks and Amir shoved them in his mouth whole. He walks around with them half in, half out. We have started calling him Cookie Monster.

We got a nice picture of Amma and Lyla.

Amir was too busy searching the bag for more cookies. He found them!

Amma has been telling me all week to shave Amir's head, but I just don't want to. Still, his tufts were starting to get nappy and knotted, so I reluctantly gave him his first haircut. I was sad to cut off some curls, but his hair looks much thicker and he was cooler when we went back yo the zoo in 90 degree weather today.

He wanted a snack while we were packing up, so he climbed on the shoe bench and got some candied pecans that were sitting on the ledge. Not cookies, but they sure are yummy!

We dropped Amma at the airport and gave her hugs goodbye. The week flew by, but we got to have lots of fun; playing at home, Valleyfair, the zoo, cooking, waffles, and cheese curds! Our freezer and our hearts are full. We love you!

After dropping Amma we went to Valleyfair for dinner and dined on turkey legs and hotdogs. I found $5 on the way out of the restaurant and gave it to Lyla to play the prize wheel. She won a bearded banana! Why this is a cool thing, I don't know, but she was happy she won.

After three minutes, she decided she didn't like it and gave it to Amir, who loved it, especially after Masud made a game of throwing it up and catching it. Notice Amir still has cute curls!

We're so blessed to have a wonderful family and these awesome kiddos! Amma says next time we should go to Boston. We'll have to bring the banana. Thank you SO much for coming to spend time with us Grandma!! We love you and having you in our home, messy and chaotic as it is!
