We're on the road again, now with dual screen DVD player! Amir loved watching Berenstain Bears. Lyla had fun helping me pack and drawing herself a mustache so she could double as her latest Odd Squad fave Obfusco (said with much flair).
Who said only dogs stick their heads out the window? This horse was loving it!
I made rice searches for the kids. Lyla tried to unscrew the top right away. Good thing I hot glued them shut! Pinterest win!
Both kiddos napped most of the way to Wisconsin Dells. They liked riding on the luggage trolley when we got there. After settling in, we went downtown to the new river walk. It was a fun night in the bustling downtown area. We even saw a car accident! We only brought one stroller this time, so the kids have been taking turns. So far, so good!
Today we had a great breakfast at the hotel and headed out to the International Crane Foundation. They have all 15 species of cranes, and the facility was beautiful. The birds were friendly, beautiful, and very cool. We all enjoyed it!
Lyla and I liked the crown cranes. They were so cool with their crown feathers! Amir did a lot of walking and liked roaring at the birds. Highlight of the day was a toad in the whooping cranes exhibit. Both kids watched him jump for a long time.
We had lunch after the cranes and then came back for a nap. It was hot out there today! Lyla mostly watched tv while the rest of us slept. Apparently the maid came in wheel we were asleep wanting to vacuum. Lyla told her to go away.
Nap time lasted a little longer than we planned, so we switched up our plans and did the Army
Ducks tonight. It was the perfect evening! The heat let up, we were out on the water or zooming through the woods, and both kids loved the land/water combo. Lyla even got to drive the duck!
After the ducks we had dinner and then it was time for swimming. We swam last night, but tonight we really got into it. The kids had fun squirting each other, throwing some splash bombs around, and swimming in or on the floatie. We had the pool to ourselves and it was great to watch each of the kids enjoying their time with Masud. The conspired to shoot me with the squirters, blew bubbles, and swam around. Amir was surprisingly comfortable in the water. Lyla is getting a lot more comfortable and was proud she could swim across the pool without one of us helping her (she used the floatie for help).
We're having a blast! More adventures to come tomorrow!
