Lyla did great at chemo again this week. She wasn't too excited to have her port accessed, but once the needle was in the rest went so fast she didn't have too much time to be upset. We talked to Sarah the nurse about the Synargis shots and she said she would check with the NP since Dr.Bendel is on vacation. The NP was saw in clinic was not on our team and had clearly not even read Lyla's chart because she was asking if maybe she had a little left side weakness -- Yes, I said, she's quadriplgic -- and suggested she take melatonin to her her sleep -- Yes, I said, she's already on it. This crap drives me nuts. Really, people?!
Anyway, we got home and had a relaxing evening. Saturday Lyla didn't feel like going anywhere so we stayed home and watched TV, played puzzles, did play dough and made cookies. After Masud got home we went out for a late lunch and picked up a few things at Sam's Club for the par-tay Sunday.
Mom and Dad came over for lunch and cake to celebrate my birthday, after which we headed to Valleyfair. We stuck to Planet Snoopy since those are the rides Lyla can go on. Mom was terrified on most of them, but she was a trooper! We also watched the Charlie Brown show a little bit and had fun shooting balls at each other in the playhouse. It was a good time and Lyla was tuckered out by the end; she almost fell asleep in the stroller! We both got a good night's sleep that night.
Riding the balloons, Lyla's favorite ride. Masud noted that Mom was hanging on for dear life.
Ready for a ride on the Rocket Express. Wave, everyone!
After Charlie Brown and the Ball Factory it was time for the Roller Coaster. Looks like everyone had a good time, right?? Great job Grandma!!
Lyla like to choose the Reese's car on the speedway.
We did a family ride on the Merry-Go-Round. Lyla rode on Princess Cadence and Grandpa and Daddy were both on King Sambras (black horses). Grandma chose to ride in the non-moving bench seat.
Thanks for a fun day, family! This week we've got therapy and chemo, then the big wedding on Saturday. Lyla is very excited to be a princess flower girl!
