Happy Birthday Amir -- 45 Weeks!

Happy Birthday Little Man! You've been under the weather and had a high fever last night, you stayed home with me today. Juggling work and a sick baby was a challenge, but you were great considering you didn't feel good. And it sure was nice that you wanted to cuddle with me. You're always so active and into things these days that you don't seem to have time to snuggle. At the doctor this morning you weighed 25 lbs, 10 ounces.

You love to stand up and are hanging on with only one hand this week. You can use shorter and shorter objects to pull up on, but once you do, you don't know what comes next. One day you stood up using your farm, then just smiled and stood there half bent over with your hand on the silo like, "look at me! Now what?" You are clapping this week and suddenly started blowing kisses. Last night you started saying "to go, to go, to go, to go". It was so cute we had to call and let Grandma and Grandpa listen. You're talking alt now actually and sometimes your words sound awfully close to what you want like up or down. Smart boy! Tonight you loved brushing your own hair.

You want to be wherever the action is, even if that's putting away dishes. You did a nice job supervising Lyla the other night.

"Don't worry Mom, I'll make sure she does it right."

"Don't forget that yellow one right there, Lyla..."

"One quick picture, then it's back to work!"

When you weren't sleeping, feverish or fussy today you were very fun and lovey. You had a blast crawling through the tunnel.

Lyla had a great time on Saturday helping Dad with the basement. She cleaned the fridge, sorted screws and tools, and helped caulk. She's a regular rehab addict!

Monday night I took her to the Prior Lake clinic for her headache complaints. Thankfully they listened to me about the sinus infection and gave her some drugs. One dose and her mucus was running so thick she woke up choking. Poor kid! She's feeling better, but struggled to stay motivated with her homework this week. She had to write the numbers 1-100 twice and had three other worksheets besides. Two of them were the same as one she brought home that she did in class. I really don't understand why she has to do the same sheet three times and neither does she.

She's doing awesome with reading and likes to write short stories now too. She knows all the words in our sight word game Dynomite and likes reading to Amir. Today she had OT with Kelsey and put together a yoga routine. Tomorrow she'll have her port flushed. It's been a long week and we're both looking forward to a painting event on Saturday.

I love these kiddos, even though I have been tempted to sell them to the circus on several occasions this week (Amir was asleep just now, then woke up because Lyla did and proceeded to cough so hard he puked and now he's wide awake again shaking the crib rail and talking to the night). Only seven more weeks of tax season left -- and then Amir will be one!
