The holiday season is here and this weekend was a great time to hang out with friends and family lazily decorating the house and making cookies. Thanks to a big snowstorm, Lyla and I were home most of the weekend other than one excursion to Great Grandma's house. Now that it's a winter wonderland outside, Christmas is approaching faster -- good thing we're ready!
Lyla's Gingerbread House from the Clinic
The tree and stockings. All our gifts are wrapped and ready!
Lyla's dinosaur has a prominent place on the tree. She was VERY excited to put it up and get the ornaments on. She moves around a little Santa ornament and a candy cane each day. She doesn't like the residual silver icicles left over from way back when Grandma and Grandpa had the tree.
Saturday Sabrina came over. Lyla gets VERY excited for Sabrina's visits and had a great time making cookies, playing makeup, painting nails and just hanging out. It was a great time and quite productive -- we made enough stained glass ornaments for each of us to have some.
After Sabrina left for her sister's winter formal, Lyla and I got ready and delivered some cookies to Grandpa at Great Grandma's house. It was quite fun. She was very excited to share her cookies.
Great Grandma was excited to give Lyla a reindeer toy she picked up for Lyla a while ago. While the rest of us thought the rocking chair reindeer that sings "Grandma got run over by a reindeer" was quite funny, Lyla adamantly refused to even look at it and was very clear that she did NOT want it. I think Grandma was a little hurt. Lyla suggested she give it to Josie. She instead got excited over an old broken watch that she was "so excited to show Lisa and Diane at school".
Sure! Pawn it off on Josie! Thanks for thinking of her lyla!
