Fall is upon us! We've been getting out to enjoy the beautiful weekends at Valleyfair and walking around the neighborhood during the week. Amir loves to be outside and running free. One day, Lyla and I walked to Faye's to pick him up in the stroller.
Lyla has been doing very well at school and is in the top of her class is reading and math. She is a "dragonfly" in reading and loves doing her math challenge packet. She is also writing a journal now, just like her favorite book character Junie B. Jones. This week she made me an awesome recipe she created called Raspberry Cookie Smash. It was really good and 100% her creation.
Amir is learning new words every day a his favorite is juice. He puckers his lips so cute and says juuuuice! He also says cuuute and peeew! My favorite new word is Mir! He can say his name! He has been doing well with potty training, but we haven't been pushing it too hard. He goes a few times a week. At the rate he is drinking his juice, I might as well just keep him on the potty because he goes all the time. His diaper leaked all over at karate the other night, thankfully as we were walking out.
At Grandpa's you get m$ms even when you don't go on the potty. Amir learned to tip his head back as he eats them. Dad kept giving them to him thinking he was eating them, but really he was just filling his cheeks. He eventually chews them all, but there was red and blue drool all over his face.
There was a member appreciation event at Valleyair last week where we all got matching hats. The kid shave enjoyed trick or treating all season and we even tried a haunted house called Mr. Cleaver's Blood Shed. A securit person accompanied us and told the monsters to calm down because there were small children, but Lyla was still terrified. Amir just sucked his thumb and cuddled his bobby (blanket) the whole way through. Thankfully, it was daylight when we came out and everyone recovered quickly.
The kids love to eat on the couch, especially Doritos. They have started playing a little more now and Amir just loves to copy his big sister. I loves seeing them walk down the hall together or sitting and playing. Lyla gets her readin minutes by readin to him and Amir toddles after her saying, Sissy! Sissy!
Tonight we got dressed up for our first Trunk-.or-Treat. The local church school decorated the trunks of cars and handed out candied, had games, and even a fire. It was fun, not too crowded and perfect for Amir. He wasn't sure at first, but knew exactly what to do by the end and wouldn't let anyone else carry his candy bucket.

I tried to take a selfie without the kids falling off the trunk. It turned out great! (wink, wink)
And of source they had to dump out their buckets and sort their candy when we got home. They both had about a half bucket full of candy. I can only imagine how much we'll have tomorrow! Lyla chose about eight things she wanted and gave the rest to Amir. I had to cut him off after a few pieces. So different to have a candy eater! We'll likely donate part of our candy to school on Monday; they collect it and send it to the troops.
