Karate Champ and Opera Star

Seriously proud of my Taekwondo kid! She did her first tournament on Saturday and rocked it! She was the only girl in her ring to do both her form and her one step without help and she killed them both! I could tell she was nervous, but all the kids were and for her first, time, she did awesome.

in line with the other girls in her ring. 10:00 am Ring 1 Tiger Girls WOY

Demonstrating her form. It was hard to get a photo because she did it so quickly!

Waiting for them to tally the scores.

She got the "Best Memory" award and rightly so. I was so proud! Moving up to the next level (from Tigers to juniors) is all about being ready to memorize, so she's on the right track!

Do your best karate pose, they said. Looks pretty rockin' to me! Nothing beats that proud, confident smile!

Excited to show Grandma and Grandpa her medal.

After the tournament we had lunch at Feddy's and then changed into our opera clothes to go see Ryan in Iolanthe. Lyla liked the show and Ryan was excellent as usual. Lyla loves her aunt Emily So much and likes to copy her -- like taking off her sweater because Emily wasn't wearing one.

She looks like such a young lady in her dress. And look at those muscles!  I tell her all the time that she's the total package, and it's true!

Thumbs up from fairy beefeater uncle Ryan!
